About
I have been creating narrative artworks, that focus on storytelling and incorporate elements of the imagination. Most of these stories came from my dream state, my emotions, and what happened around me in everyday life. When I was a child, I read a lot of books about the legendary ghosts of Chinese mythology. I was very interested in these themes as well as the mystical depictions in those books, and they inspired the creation of bizarre characters in my works.
In my recent art creation, I aim to break the mold of conventional aesthetics by using an ironic, humorous, and unique style, and try to explore the edge of what’s acceptable and possible. Personal expression has often been my main priority. My works are either bizarre escapes from reality or sensational nightmares based on it. By defying symbolisms of popular cultures, my work examines the relations between violence, popular culture, and the boundaries of fantasy.
